I guess wind may still pose lots of problems due to our placing near the 0 degree latitude. here, wind speeds are low and where strong are very intermittent, i guess any research that shows that we can exploit wind for power must be sponsored by countries making the wind turbines just to create market for their stuff. For clean energy as in the forgoing, i would vote for geothermal, thermal, solar, tidal(xpensive but still unexploited) and OTEC.
