Hi,
I must admit he is in the right place but what he could do for the time being is visit programming firms and actually book for appointments with the Technical service Directors. Here he could emphasize on the projects he has done. Am sure it would be easier to get a place very soon. Meanwhile he could continue practising real hard and coming up with small applications but innovative to be included as part of developed projects in his CV.
