As you've seen below ... We carry our traffic on both TEAMS and SEACOM which you'd expect is good redundancy. However, these do converge in the Suez Canal and on SEAMW4 to get to London (where main Internet peering/transit POPs are). SEAMW4 had a cable cut on one of their terrestrial legs. They have backup, but they had an equipment failure also, and the backup switchover didn't work. It took them several hours to get this fixed. We're looking to see how to add even more diversity on the physical routes/cables. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Dennis Kioko" <dmbuvi@gmail.com> To: "Skunkworks Mailing List" <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> Sent: Thursday, December 2, 2010 4:04:06 PM Subject: Re: [Skunkworks] ZUKU down? They all link with the SEAMW4 cable at Fujaira in UAE, and SEAMW4 had the cut. coincidentally, the only cable that (am not sure of progress) that connects directly to London, EASSy was having a press conference in the afternoon (planned long before though) _______________________________________________ Skunkworks mailing list Skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke http://lists.my.co.ke/cgi-bin/mailman/listinfo/skunkworks ------------ Skunkworks Rules http://my.co.ke/phpbb/viewtopic.php?f=24&t=94 ------------ Other services @ http://my.co.ke
