Can we trust the billing defination of what a megabyte is ? Now that there are so-o many seeking safcom Internet - they don't need to encourage u the user to browse anymore .. Therefore at the GPRS billing the defination of MB could be 1000kb instead of 1024kb therefore getting the most.. Don't forget the rates can be changed in a second at the billing - so is the fear expressed in this forum real ? Yes ! Yes.. I guess it comes down to how much you trust ur operator :) Orange has no 3G ... yet. Solution.. Since billing is not real time for post paid,, I guess we should clear our network buffers before we begin usage, monitor use, record and confirm with the rates per bundle if the math tallys. Being faster doesnt mean that am downloading more - it just means that the same amount of data is arriving faster than it used to. Maybe the real issue is that now you can view more pages per minute than you used to!

The last time such a thing happened to me, I decided to do traffic accounting on the interface connecting me Safaricom and I did that both for downloads and uploads. That way you can get an overview of what goes on. Easy to do on Unix. Not sure about Windows.
