1/ Bad choice of domain name... Long and hard to write. Futhermore, it is restricted your market => what if she want to sell clothes (oups, she is already painting)
Thus lukagwa.com with subfolder should be favored - lukagwa.com/painting/... or lukagwa.com/jewellery/...
2/ Avoir tables as said above... Go full CSS
3/ Your site is throwing 22 errors using HTML validator - http://validator.w3.org/check?uri=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.lukagwajewellers.com%2F&charset=%28detect+automatically%29&doctype=Inline&group=0 - fix them
4/ No SEO friendly... add alt and title with pertinent keywords
5/ Shopping area = Total fail = you have two different websites. Either place the shoppingcart in your root domain and forget the main site or either try to integrate shopping kazba within main website *(should be easy, few cookies and some raw data text, plenty of example online).
6/ Images are small... try to fit text from right side to the left side (below button) and place larger images on right side
7/ If you are planning to have a share FB button, use the FB Open Graph meta tag, it helps !
8/ Then, no price !!! Please, tell the designer that some people are tired of that no price policy. This is not a fish market !!
Beware - No prices = means no sales ! No time to argue online, people want to see prices and compare
Hope it helps... me it is a below average website but we all started there, isn't it ??
So continue to read books and documentation about CSS/HTML, some server-script code and then try to improve design.
Try and use a grid system such as http://960.gsOn Sat, Dec 4, 2010 at 10:21 PM, Watchman <skunkingrahim@gmail.com> wrote:
Thoughts based on experience.
1. Although i still use tables, it's for relatively un-acceptably stubborn clients who "Know" a bit about Web Development and insist that it's been that way always. So, Seeing as how you've already got a CSS input, change all tables to CSS.
2. The design is fairly simple but your aesthetic value is diminished by usability.
3. The links that identify navigation ( Our Profile ) etc. Should have hyperlinks attached to the images, ease of nav.
4. Admin references, repeated addresses, all can go.
It's a great site, needs some more.. experience and usability up's. Get in touch with me on rahim@megapixels.co.ke if you need to get a consultant who can help improve site usability and user experience.

3. What will happen if there are more than two products featured on the home page? The space available seems kinda small.
