Hard luck buddy, for the time being the dongle/flasher route is the only sure way. Keep your eyes & ears open though, KaKaRoTo's upto something that's romoured to stretch all the way to OFW 4.00.
(PS : This may be one of the few cases in which early adopters find themselves in an enviable position; I obtained my console at OFW 3.55
