Peter,

Do you remember the simple-russian-pencil vs the american-billion-dollar-underwater-writing-ball-point-pen story?

Cut the unnecessary wheel-reinvention.

My trusty old T42 ThinkPad has what I think should be a MUST-HAVE on all laptops;  a tiny led light where others have a video-cam.
At whatever angle your screen is, the tiny light illuminates the keyboard very discreetly so hata kwa night bus au ndege you can work without bugging the jirani.
and for those non-touch typists like myself a handy FN-PGUP on/off switch; and as these keys are on opposite ends of the keyboard, very easy to switch on/off.

to cut a long story short

solution
------------

usb powered led that you can fix to your screen with a paper clip. and you could make it any colour you please; so Monday could be strip-joint red, Tuesday could be reggae-bar green, etc etc

Good people,
Anyone know of a way i can turn my kawaida laptop keyboard to a backlit one? Kinda like the one in the mac book pros and the alienware laptops?

Much thanks.
