I haven't used pesapal but currently putting in ipay on Virtuemart, not complete as we sort styling issues, should be done next week. Ipay <http://www.intrepid.co.ke/i-pay-mobile-transaction-processing.html> is another mobile money processing function like pesapal. If you have Paypal then its fine. They accept credit cards as well. I have integrated systems into Paypal so many times. You are headed in the right direction. You can start here www.x.com there's plenty of documentation with sample code to get going

Have a question for web developers. If one wants to make a site which accepts credit card payments what are the available options one can use. I am working on a joomla site and am very green at this. Have used RS Forms Pro to integrate to Paypal but the owner of the site wants both paypal as well as credit card pay options.
