What ind of a response is this. This is sheer laziness hiding behind "dont re-invent the wheel" disease. Thank God for people like Google who dare reinvent the wheel
If you are too lazy to reinvent the wheel then dont critisize/demoralize others who are brave enough to get their hands dirty coz thats what we as techies do.
Look at this company spacex.com they build rockets and space exploration stuff and are taking up a lot of stuff from NASA. They build their stuff, hardware and software that includes even the batteries etc (basically almost everything they make) from scratch In-house. Dare you to tell them not to reinvent the wheel. Another thing try getting a job there as an Engineer or developer if you are not ready to build from scratch and see if you will be taken

No need to think too much :) these guys are using about 7 pages; html, css, php, javascript and fusiontables as the datastore, I got a chance to look at their code b4 they went live and am amazed at what they were able to achieve with some good logic and use of the very basic tools we developers use on a day to day basis.
