So $afcom has lauched a solar charged phone for about 3K. Interesting especially for guys without electricity *cough*The Entire Country*cough*.
I began to wonder about the battery life thus the value of the entire package.
AFAIK, if a battery for a mobile device is discharged and recharged frequently without the charge (almost) running out then that reduces the battery life. The phone will often be exposed to the sun thus it will recharge unless there is a switch to control this. Even if there is a switch, I assume solar charging will take longer than the average time so most users would just leave it on and let the phone recharge whenever it's exposed to the sun.
If someone gets a hold of it, confirm/deny my wonders.
