Spot on!

Well, it is and it isn't.

Our Rights, as you put it, are rather fickle. In the event of a terrorist attack, we will quickly be pro-surveillance. In the event of our rather "sensitive" pictures getting leaked, we will be quick to lynch the surveillance system.

The only thing left to do, in my opinion, is smell the roses, take pictures of sunsets, eat at any eatery that tickles my fancy, experience exotic cultures wherever they lead and generally, be alive. I dare say that that is my only responsibility, that and not being a threat to security. In any case, as long as you are a citizen of anywhere, you have limited rights and freedoms as it is.

this is merely my opinion, mine and that of the creatures in my head.

Now, smile, big brother is watching. Caveat: for big brother to watch you, you have to be interesting enough. If he isn't watching then you, my friend, are simply dull and should start watching cartoons as soon as you possibly can.

@Eva and @Okechukwu, that mentality also is dangerous. If we don't really care about protecting "our rights", gradually, they will be eroded, and before you know it, those little things you used to enjoy, like watching youtube videos, will then become illegal.

What will you say then?

Do you suppose our fellow human beings in North Korea are enjoying life as much as we are?

in these times when we are encouraged to "share" every waking moment of our lives, privacy has largely been lost...
sadly, the "if you have nothing to hide..." mantra has sunk into the vast majority of people as a logical and sane argument...

What about your right to privacy? Doesn't that matter?
