I have problems browsing with my desire using my computer internet...i.e internet pass through but somehow it doesnt work...anyone with tips on internet pass through..

I use connectify and it sorts me out just fine. I'm on HTC Legend & I've got someone on the Ideos. You need Windows 7 on the computer though.
For the reverse; USB tethering works fine from both devices. No set-ups no configs - Just plug & surf :)
