If Oracle puts any restrictions on the MySQl source it will also affect MariaDB which uses a lot of code out of the MySQL 5.1 Tree. Its just a few days now so lets see what the European Union says about this.
Any kind of source restriction cannot be retroactively applied .. i.e. if they apply it today, all the source code before today (on the open source license) can be freely forked ashok
