@wash, some of my clients are using their Internet, unfortunately, only smtp.jambo.co.ke seemed to work as of Thursday last week, I've moved a couple already, but mass migration is a again a problem as some prefer to plan in advance before commiting.

For the guys on Safaricom, Ak etc. they are ok. I'm stuck with the ones that don't wanna move. Anyway, im also moving the domains from TKL

Hello Osotsi,

I've just looked up the domain registration for jambo.co.ke and it's valid still, with DNS servers registered as {ns1|ns2|ns3}.jambo.co.ke

I then decided to see if I can reach any of those Name Servers:

(10:27:33 <~>) 0 $ for ns in ns1 ns2 ns3; do ping -c 5 $ns.jambo.co.ke; done
ping: cannot resolve ns1.jambo.co.ke: Host name lookup failure
ping: cannot resolve ns2.jambo.co.ke: Host name lookup failure
ping: cannot resolve ns3.jambo.co.ke: Host name lookup failure

Now, you can see that their DNS servers are down. It therefore means that there is no way to resolve the IP for smtp.jambo.co.ke

So let's just say jambo.co.ke is officially SHUT DOWN (for the moment).

I have no specific interest in jambo.co.ke, except that I manage a mailing list somewhere which has subscribers with this domain suffix and I had to check for something on Sunday to see why things were not happening as they should.

Anyway, I suggest you show up at their offices (if you know where it is) and demand "haki yetu!!!". AFAIAC, they can go to hell.

There is Safaricom Hosting and even better still, Google Apps. The former looks quite affordable although I haven't used them myself.

If push comes to shove for you, domain transfer/change of DNS records takes quite a short time for .KEs and about 72hrs for gTLDs. Just start transferring your domains to other service providers.

What other options do we have regarding this smtp.jambo.co.ke? I can't seem to put my phone down, clients asking so many questions, no answers forthcoming, i'm gonna get cancer from this radiation.

You may need to physically present yourself at Telkom/Orange house to get feedback, they never answer any queries unless you show up in person.

Just a quick one. Does the top management of Orange know of the existence of jambo
