Define one pack for .net?? Hi all,<br>

I have a a dilemma guys, i have done my research on the net and still cant<br>
get the exact response that i need.<br>

We all know that sharepoint runs on the .NET version 3.5.....so what would<br>
happen if i installed .NET 4.0 on the server??<br>

1. would it replace and upgrade the .NET 3.5 already installed?...and if it<br>
did would it affect sharepoint negatively? I would guess not since am just<br>
doing an upgrade<br>

2. would I be able to run different .NET versions on the same server, and<br>
just use different application pools in different web applications in<br>
IIS????<br>

Any experts out there please help!!!!!<br>
