Oracle is not behind Libre Office. Check your facts. Libre Office was forked from OenOffice because the developers no longer trust Oracle's stewardship. Same case with the Hudson project and the Jenkins fork. On Wednesday, March 9, 2011, Patrick Kariuki <patrick.kariuki@gmail.com> wrote:
Seems like opensource is being killed off from the roots. True. *swaying off topic abit, you might have noticed a new OpenOffice fork called LibreOffice and guess who's behind it? Oracle Corporation!!
If Google want to brag about Android being an open platform, they'd better diversify the NDK before disgruntled developers come up with a long term solution for smart phones not limited to frameworks or languages.
MeeGo will be the only true open platform for developers once its out, by May according to http://www.itwire.com/your-it-news/home-it/42365-intelnokia-meego-phones-are...

It is so sad to see a developer platform like Qt being at the mercies of M$. If you've never used it, Qt is to C and C++ what Eclipse is to java. It is one of the most powerful C++ GUI tools you will ever encounter. Seems like opensource is being killed off from the roots. First java now Qt. How about that for a double punch. At least C++ is more of a standard than a product.

Highly unlikely, Nokia + M$ is going after Android and iPhone. Qt/Meego
(A
Nokia/Intel initiative) was supposed to be the killer punch on Android and iPhone but Nokia kept messing up with road map causing year in year out delays. Lighthouse was to be the Android port but with M$ into the Picture am sure there wont be a push for the continuity of Lighthouse. Qt/QML on WP7 would have been a killer option but of course Qt has been a huge threat to .NET/WPF and M$ would be really happy to see Qt die.
