@Wash Are you sure? I host a couple of websites on Safaricom and experienced the same hack. I can say these sites are fairly secure. The hacker changed encoding from UTF8 to UTF7 and went ahead to add some scripts to the DB.
Am inclined to blame it on poor server configs

The hosting provider just gives you the space and cannot audit all the code you use on your website.
