Hi,
I was talking to a certain manager at an NGO who told me that he gets his software from a friend.
The software is Windows 7 and when I asked if he gets licensed copies of the same he says his friend gives him the license +software for free. (don't laugh)
I am wondering where does the law stand in this case, is the manager innocent due to his ignorance?
He knows that software is intellectual property and is bought. He must also be knowing that licenses are required, unless he did not enter any computer class!! Is he able to prove that he does not know that software requires license? If he can prove that, and also prove that his friend has been doing everything (installation, reading the terms & conditions) without involving him, then perhaps.. So he is NOT ignorant, and by extension NOT innocent! -- Best regards, Odhiambo WASHINGTON, Nairobi,KE +254733744121/+254722743223 _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ _ "If you have nothing good to say about someone, just shut up!." -- Lucky Dube
