The best thing is for Training to be offerred to all drivers on how to pick the clamp lock. The rule of the game is once you unlock, dont leave it there....put it in your boot and give it to main campus students who like hanging all sort of things in their rooms...hopefully, they will run out of clamping materials..

over to you chuks....

The additional parking fees should be able to purchase many more clamps from jua kali vendors (job creation) and the tow-truck land rovers that sit parked all day around town will now see more business (again more jobs/work).

What if everyone refuses to pay? how many vehicles can NCC clamp?

Ripple effect will be less collections by city council anyway because everyone is constructing away from the CBD and putting private parking spaces.

Me thinks its fundraising for elections. Suddenly every public servant is talking about needing money for this and that other project worth billions.didnt they budget at the beginning of their terms?

Incentive to relocate businesses out of CBD and decongest the city.
yaaah right, like tatu city, right?

The problem with Kaju is that they are short sighted;

- What will happen to business in the city - cbd is everybody re-locate? - it means no investors will dare land there
or are we devolving businesses too?
- Is the 300 bob worth the service they give if they render any?
- Where is organised matatu/transport service
- Come January, much time/work wi be spent hunting for matatus (2) for every route or if blessed with your own car 1
- The security is wanting within CBD as far as kaju is concerned.
- i prophesy downfall of the kaju of Nairobi, very soon you will see retrenchment - i bet they pay their employees with the parking fee- millions every month?
- Why cant they re-introduce "muthufari - city council buses and promise efficiency other that introducing draconian rules that benefit none of the city dwellers?

in my opinion, they fee is not timely - let them lay the structures/basics before they set the rooftops!

those other cities have very good, clean and efficient railway, trams and bus transport that are affordable and reliable come rain, snow, summer etc...

what do we have here, chaotic matatus that from january when they are wiped out of CBD...anyone working in town will pay double fares by the remaining big matatus allowed into the CBD...

in short, working in CBD will be two jobs....transport and the actual work...

This is good. More ppl use public transport = less traffic.
Wish a fee would be added for any car to enter town
like some recent experiments/ ongoing projects in other city
centres:

Not needing a car is one of the few advantages of living
in a city. Higher living costs but lower transportation
costs :)

It is hard taking someone who complains about traffic
seriously if the person is alone in their car to and
from work.

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.As we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates others.
