A nice article on CNN on how BIOS makers in conjuction with OS developers are planning to reduce the boot duration to "instant". Who thinks they will hack? By the way am interested in seeing (and of course using) this Latitude Z machine from Dell. Apparently it has 2 power buttons, one which offers instant boot to check e-mail, calendar, contacts and the web as, a mode called 'Latitude On.' But they have had to create a special chip to give that functionality. Who knows if Latitude Z has landed here?
