My Samsung Jet (S8003) was bought from Safaricom and was blocked too. Reason? There is a time I took it to Samsung Service Centre and they changed the digitizer+software and I think they did not re-implant the IMEI (for lack of a better description). So one day after the barring exercises, I saw my phone displaying "unregistered SIM". I changed the SIM card and all were displaying the same. I called safaricom and they confirmed my SIM cards status as good. I pressed *#06# and the IMEI was a series on zeros/zero (000000000000000/0). Took the phone to Samsung Service Centre in Westlands and now waiting for them to make it work or replace it.
am still clueless as to what this exercise was all about. more so, when the phones i assumed were being targeted, the dual sims from china, validate at CCK but the one person i know whose phone was denied network access had a samsung galaxy ace bought from safaricom
