Dave, I thought that method was only possible in "removing read-only password"..? I am assuming you need to open the document so as to do the macros and VBA stuff...and this means that since it is password protected it wont be possible to remove password before you open password protected document...i.e. egg > chicken > egg > chicken scenario...?
