OK...
Now here is my two cents on this.
Lots of contributions here are actually valid... the need to get proper content on the media, the need for equal and valuable coverage and also, the state of technology in media. We are at a needy stage... but my view is that the only person trying to do something on this and trying to get a light on the ICT issues and developments in the media is Larry Madowo, and here we are criticizing him and telling him off.
I think Larry is a good example... he is not trained as an IT pro but he has gone beyond heights to familiarize himself with what is happening and he is quite informed in IT issues if you compare him with any other journalist we have.
Another thing I can say about Larry is he is one of the few journalists I know with integrity in this country. I would confidently challenge anyone who has a case against his integrity to come forward and say it.
What we can do is basically inform Larry on whatever is happening, suggest things that he needs to cover and also guide him on some matters. It is vital that we appreciate his efforts and realize that he is also trying to work in a media setup that is not necessarily the easiest to work with.
Lets not fight but support Larry. I have talked to him on several occasions on different issues and I can tell he has every intention to make a good mark on ICT Journalism.
David.
There are two things you can do with feedback accept or reject. It was
never my intention to attack you, you are judged by your work which
happens to be very public, an open to scrutiny.
Your news items question everything from government policy, economic
and management decisions, feels strange being under scrutiny ne?
I close my remarks as well.
