In Uni we would complain about not being taught to code in the 'relevant' and 'popular' languages. Then you realize the lecturer's job is not to teach you cram a language (ie how to write code) but to teach you how to think before writing code (i.e algorithms). Then you appreciate that critical thinking skill they instilled in you makes you not 'fear' any language because the most important thing is the algorithm. At least I know many guys I graduated with in UoN do.In summary, Most programmers are self taught in the different languages.
