I would say @Athar that this thread is not in the wrong forum.
There are various ways of importing stuff from abroad. Some indicate the exact taxes they pay, others don't. For some of the methods, you pay the taxes yourself directly to the government.
As with any situation where there is a choice (legal or not), people will inevitably make different choices.

Ok this is a wrong discussion to have on this forum. Its unpatriotic and illegal.

Even if they don't pay taxes good for them so long I get my goods in one

Why pay taxes that end up being embezzled anyway?

We use salhiyya to import our cargo as IT resellers and I'm 100% sure they don't charge VAT.

I am no lawyer, but just because the shipping agent gives you a receipt with a KRA pin doesn't mean they paid the due duties.
As an example, buy an item from Amazon, ship it via Posta so that you go collect from the "customs desk" at your Posta, then you will truly know what you were meant to pay to the sirkal.
And no, if sh*t hits the fan, you cannot claim "oh I thought the charges from the shipping agent included all taxes...", nope. It is your mandate as the item purchaser to know how much you are meant to pay to KRA, and pay it!
