Finally got it to work by buying 3 1.5 m usb high speed cables and joining them end to end . . . What I am tryin to do is put a usb wifi dongle on my roof + a fabricated 'satellite dish' so that I pick the loopnet or butterfly wifi network . . . The nanostation option is beyond my financial reach for now. So far so good now I jus need a pole to raise my "dish" and secure it and al have a stronger signal all the net I need.. . . Wish me luck !!

@MarkIf it works your quite lucky. You might have to keep "repeating" the signal at intervals of 2.5m (which might not work ) or look(build) a USB bridge that acts as a USB device. The < 5m limit length was designed to allow for reflections to settle at the transmitter before the next bit was sent. Cant you find a way of using an ethernet connection?
