- Users either had to contort their bodies to comfortably place their finger on the scanner surface of the Futronic FS88H, or - Users had to pick it up, slant it, then place their fingers on the scanner surface
It may seem trivial, but if you have a queue of people waiting to get scanned, frustrations can build up extremely fast, due to a few seconds "lost" during scanning.

I happened to have been part of a QA team that was testing a "biometrics module" on a locally developed software, and whichever device you chose, if its going to be used on a flat surface (e.g. a table top or counter), then it is better if the part where the user places their finger is slanted downwards, and not flat.
