Yesterday coincidentally ran into 2good friends who have been working in different parts of the world (China and Germany) in IT. The argument was as the subject matter with regard to technology and the economy.
The friend from china was of the idea if you dont know how something is done there are 2ways out either ask the "developer" or simply buy the technology then reverse engineer it after which you can develop your technology using cheaper material and have a clearer understanding of it implementation.
The friend from germany was like why go to school only to steal an idea modify and call it your own? Then I pop up a question like here in kenya everything seems messed up where do we get funds to actually manufacture our own without political hoolabaloo?
After a long "heated" argument a question was thrown into the works. Every one in the web industry is most likely using cpanel the rest are using other options which are not as effective as cpanel, has anyone in africa attempted to develop an application that can rival cpanel or at best run VPS services without the african/kenyan mentality of million overnight?
All looked puzzled for a short while then the friend from germany was like kenyans are either lazy or are busy trying to make money off everything they can lay their hands on.
Whats your thought?
