I cringe when venture capital is seen to be the saviour of enterpreneurs.

Money is a challenge yes but it is not what determines a businesses success. Most startups that I see looking for funding  barely have paying customers. I think showing a revenue stream and potential growth will interest even commercial banks. but the "free" VC money will only bring problems and exploitation by the actual owners of the startup, Whoever gave you the money.

The business department of any company is always looking for award winning ideas, they will listen to you, think through it as they guide you to disclose what you have and as soon as they get it. Its just a twist away and PAP! they are gone.
