Yeah I saw the graph, Its insane. I'll be curious to look at the numbers a year from now. I think I'll get me an iPad too. ----- "Okechukwu" <okechukwu@gmail.com> wrote:
@Steve - Remember this is stats for iPad only, in the next 2-5 years add up with the stats from other tablets, access to the web will be more of tablets than PC's (and yes, by PC's its meant MAC's, Win & Linux laptops + desktops). In the next coming years, it will be more reasonable to buy a tablet than a laptop. By killing the PC market, they are not killing the server market which you refer to as online servers and backend devices.
If you look at the article, iPad iOS use for web traffic has been rising steadily in away never seen before even for the PC/Mac access, thats why most analysts are thinking this way.

Death of the PC? By PC I am sure you mean MACs, Windows, and the rest.
iPad or any other tablets cannot spell death of the PC because, think about it, all those people generating those stats with iPad also own PCs. Or at least look at this case scenario. This also goes for other mobile devices. In a single family home there may be one or two PCs. In the same home you may find several mobiles and a couple of iPads.
Also the apps people are installing ion mobiles nowadays are continuing to rely on online services and connect in the background.
Just in the same way web traffic on mobiles have increase exponentially this year over previous years. Theres no way somebody will dump a PC and maintain a mobile for their day-to-day use especially the Linux guys. You've got to hand it to them. One thing Linux is consistency, other numbers fluctuate but Linux just holds its humble stats without bulging.
There was definitely bound to be a shift in stats since the iPad hit the market. It did not exist before and now it does. If those states did not reflect that way then it would be really scary.
PCs have their place, and iPads have theres. In my opinion, I think iPad fragments iPhone and iPods market share just as bad of not worse than any other mobile devices. What is the deviation in the stats for iPhone and iPod. Is there a stagnation, drop or growth in either of them?
This is just my opinion.

Looks like iPad IOS has overtaken Linux OS'es on web traffic, and maybe spelling the death of the PC?
