Also Einstein's theory; as you approach the speed of light .... This limit is still a reality we have to beat.
Sir Isaac Newton had actually predicted the discovery of an elementary particle that could ALWAYS travel faster than the speed of light in the observable Universe [

Of course I think this hypothesis is wrong even though I know that Newton predicted the discovery of the Higgs' boson (now the BEH scalar particle) in his standard model of Physics among other things ....
All you have to do to bend space and / or time is to create a sufficiently massive body that will effectively create a gravitational field around it. The sun and the moon + planets do it. Black-holes are notorious for this too ....
