Ok, turnoff ldap and then turn it on and observe the logs on the subservers, it should bind as it starts or report an error in the logs that it could not bind. Check the ldap sync and try an ldap search on one of the subservers if it binds successfully. If not check the logs and revert with any error you see there

Kevin,
Yes, I have credentials stored on the main server and LDAP replicates to the sub servers for domain logins. We set the authentication servers via the WINS option on the user computers. And yes, their credentials are rejected when they login from the local sub servers.

Phares,
Doing that in a few

some clarifications: your users have their username and passwords stored on the main server but the main server syncs with the subservers to mirror that information, is this LDAP replication you have running or another setup? I assume this is for domain logins, how do the users pick which server to authenticate from? By cant login to their profiles do you mean their passwords are rejected or their passwords are allowed but they cant see their desktops?

Now,
I have some weird problem. Weird coz I dont know how to explain it.
Now, we have this setting in our organization. A main server hosting zimbra and ldap runs in the head office and sub servers in all our branches. These sub-servers are meant to be used to store user profiles. Now, doing my rounds this week, I've realised that none of these sub-servers has been synchronizing with the main server for weeks and whenever users try to login to their profiles while pointing to the local servers, they cant but when they point to the main server, everything seems ok.
