I dont think that the small players will be out of work. Do you see how AOL is doing in USA? From trying to take over
mashable.com to taking over BEBO and then having problems making them successful. Google has also had problems with some ventures while the small players succeed.
I dont think that anyone should worry about Safaricom doing anything. I only worry when they dominate voice and net and then fix prices. But for online services, let them bring the game on. They took brightermonday portal to provide their mobile users with job info but the truth is that, the populary of the service is waning and
brightermonday.com is going down so fast.
Access Kenya tried the same with openview and it is just not going to work. Nation media is trying it with
n-soko.com but they dont employ people who are passionate about the products. Now see how they are fumbling with the service. Talking to one manager recently, it is not rosy at
n-soko.com.
Zuqka is dead as a dodo while the inception was actually to contain facebook and foreign social media platforms.
So when I do something, I do it as a matter of life and death and so do it passionately. Safaricom should bring the game on. Infact they will make us penetrate some section which we have not penetrated
