Guys,
You might have very little room for maneuver with MS licences in the very near future. This is because they are hell bent on rolling out cloud applications exclusively eg Office 365.The good thing is that you can still be able to use Office 365 even when offline because it maintains an offline copy of your documents.
Payments will be monthly but they can compute one time annual payments or even 3 years payments. Where you just pay and use.
Once the period expires you will be given a small grace period after which your office will lock until you renew your subs. The good thing is that you can install many instances of office 365 with a single licence like on laptop, desktop, tablet, phone etc. I think the limit is 10 instances for a single user. I don't think there's anywhere to hide any more.
As earlier said the MS staff in Kenya are very cooperative. You may invite them for discussions and further clarifications.
Rgds,

This allows me to run unlimited number of Windows Servers VM's on that single host. This makes it affordableTherefore needs identification and getting the right solution.Regards,Peter MugohOn Wed, May 4, 2016 at 9:07 AM, Alvin Jason Ochieng via skunkworks <skunkworks@lists.my.co.ke> wrote:What he has to sort is what he really needs. Many people buy what they may never even use.
You then get an activation key like normal volume license and use it to legalize the software.

Yes it's possible to get volume licensing for your 50 machines.
At the moment you can get Windows 10 with downgrade options to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 and this allows you to legalize your windows 7 and when you are ready to upgrade to win 10 you will still be compliant. With office you have two options
1. Perpetual licenses where you can buy one off version of license e.g office 2013, 2016 etc this will be valid until Microsoft stops supporting it. This could be expensive to procure (Capex) no running costs (Opex)
2. Subscription licenses where you pay monthly, or annually and ownership ends with expiry of period paid for. This has no Capex but has Opex. Cheaper in the long run especially when you need to upgrade and flexibility for paying for what you need e.g a staff resigns and you don't need to pay for his/her license for the time the position is vacant if on monthly payment.Pricing for any of the licenses is based on
1. Type of license I.e Home, Standard, Professional and Enterprise each packaged with different options /features and or capabilities.2. Organisation type I.e Commercial /Private, Government, Education, Non Govt
We can send you a quote offline.
