Hi, I would not really consider that as an upgrade, You need to understand that you can replace with another IOS of the same version which will enable you fo VPN's. In other words you are looking for an IOS with encryption features or what is called a k9 enabled IOS e.g. * * asr1000rp1-adventerprise*k9*.02.04.02.122-33.XND2.bin c2600-advsecurity*k9*-mz.124-12c.bin Note the K9 in the IOS version, now thats what you have to ascert in the new version but again its always good to upgrade by using a higher IOS version with a note on K9 feature.
