Technology is a double-edged sword. So far we have seen the good side - Ushahidi, mpesa, e.t.c This video clearly shows one of the bad sides - propaganda. I expect to see more of this in addition to the 'hate-mongering' going on in the social media front.
We can't state a problem without giving our contribution towards solving it! In addition to laughing at such propaganda, I suggest we should now start giving our replies or "counter-propaganda" as techies. Maybe we should have 'Sponsored by Skunkworks Kenya' videos on you tube with explanations from the true experts that we are! At least we owe our country that much!
On a lighter note, our courtesy will be extended to our media sisters and brothers! One of them, in an effort to sound edgy said, "...the IEBC VPN that is run on an Oracle database ..."!
Why would TNA and IEBC need to hack anything if they conspired? Why not just manipulate the data which they had full access?

It saddens me to actually reply to this, but I just have to say....

@Mark,
Who do you propose to give the "official" response - the credible rebuttal from the supposedly shamed IT industry.
I suggest we all become members of the Computer Society of Kenya (CSK) and from there we can offer official rebuttals. CSK would be representative of the ICT community the same way LSK is to the legal fraternity. So from CSK, we could call an extraordinary general meeting to agree on official response to quarks like the one on that clip :-)
Who is game??? Here is the form - http://www.cskonline.org/individual-membership-application-form-2013

He he. .this was a funny one. Why are some scared that we will start throwing chairs and keyboards? This is in the same calibre as those hoodlums rolling around in the forest for the CNN cameras.
Problem is we do not have any credible rebuttal from the supposedly shamed IT industry. Why is there no official response rubbishing the guy point for point publicly? Ama we think Skunkworks is a news channel? Just laughing at him is one thing. Standing up for your profession is another.
I bet the law society of Kenya would never tolerate some random guy doing such antics with the law.

Our greatest fear is not that we are inadequate, but that we are powerful
beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that frightens us.There is
nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure
around you.As we let our own light shine, we consciously give other people
permission to do the same.
As we are liberated from our fear, our presence automatically liberates
others._______________________________________________

If you save the living environment, the biodiversity that we have left,
you will also automatically save the physical environment, too. But If
you only save the physical environment, you will ultimately lose both.
1) Don’t drive species to extinction
2) Don’t destroy a habitat that species rely on.
3) Don’t change the climate in ways that will result in the above.
