My take is for you to go with what works for you in terms of Style, Cost, etc.
A friend only does Apple products; Laptop, Desktop, Phone. I will not try to convince him to have the SIII Phone, Lenovo PC, etc.

That said, let me weigh in on this; I am a recent new owner of an iPhone and for me, what's different is the User Experience which is a class above any other smart phone that I have used so far..
