Heheeee..now that this has come up (and it appears it's another time to cool off our heads), I do recall something else the prophets of doom were damn happy to use as a way of conning the dumb - LHC (Large Hardron Collider)! Some guys predicted the end of the world (destruction of the earth) with this experiment:-) It was all in their power to "interpret"....
