We don't unlock modems because of the price, most people here are geek and own more than one already (I have 4, 5 if you count iBurst) We do it because we have to, because its a challenge and more importantly, for the convenience. Its not fun lugging around 4 dongles! I'd rather carry 3 sim cards instead.

For 3G speeds on Orange, I would encourage you to buy a Huawei CDMA 2000 modem.
