Hey
Can I ask how you buy TRON. Want to buy some.

Hahahaha. Everyone is skeptical of high risk high returns trading though all the info is out there about crypto and I guess with an educated human population who have access to this information one would expect less skepticism. Personally jumped on to TRON today which has been showing a good growth rate and its purpose being built for the entertainment sector of which I am in as well so know the value it will bring. Ripple has been my biggest cash cow so far on the trading side while Monero mining is still going strong. I got faith!
Have a great day!

The best online would be an offline one; most cryptos allow you to put your wallet on paper.
If you missed bitcoin you could try your luck on altcoins; Verge, ripple, ethereum. Ripple was at 0.2 in Dec and now at 2 and is touted to hit 20 once listed on coinbase.

Hi Amarjit,
That is true about Monero being designed to give better hash rates on CPUs than GPUs. In fact it was designed to be resistant to GPUs completely.
But we all know how some people are wired to just want to overcome limitations and restrictions :-)
We now have GPU mining apps that have been released and are being improved upon everyday- right now there are those that even do all in one mining for CPU & GPU.
And though I do not want to get too deep into the tech details, the fact is that GPUs will always perform much better in proof-of-work algorithms such as Monero's cryptonight.
In case someone is really keen to understand why, see the below analogy that explains it well enough.
CPUs are in the range of 2-16 cores, while GPUs are 2000-3000 cores - typically speaking.
Now imagine each CPU core being like a super strong and heavy fighter and each GPU core being a small but nimble kid.
Hashing algorithms are like picking up berries from the ground; thousands of kids are much better at it than a few strong dudes...
The incentive to do this is that setting up a GPU rig for mining is always cheaper because you can slot in several bad boys into one rig as compared to CPUs. It can also be practical to run depending on your power costs.
Last thing, and I am getting into all this so that we can always value facts, CPUs are cheap yes but not the CPUs that need to handle algos such as cryptonight. There is a huge memory requirement (2MB cachemem per core) and such CPUs are not cheap. Otherwise you would have 16 cores but with 12MB mem meaning that you can only use 12/2 = 6 cores for hashing.

Kevin

Hi Kevin,
Actually the Hash rates for mining Monero on a GPU are lower than mining say another crypto like Ethereum or Lite Coin on the same rig. Monero is designed to give better hash rates on CPU than GPU. That was my two cents that I was sharing.
Have a great day!

Hi Amarjit,
Actually GPUs can pump out a higher hash rate. But the total power draw is high and of course most are out of stock everywhere. That is unless you buy a used one of which you cannot be sure of its condition.
See the comparisons of the current top bench-marked CPUs and GPUs.

Kevin

Based on Jamo's response on Monero and being a Monero miner myself its the current Hash rates are easier to achieve than other mineable cryptos that are heavily trading and on the rise price wise. Also its more CPU reliant than GPU so rigs or less expensive to setup.

Josiah, how have you identified Monero as appropriate to mine? Uses less power, cheaper equipments, less competition?

Personally, keeping away from Bitcoin as I really do not understand some of its aspects, especially control and banking.
I think one of the major attractions of Bitcoins is the element of no centralized control (by the government and central bank / federal reserve) which appears to be one of the major weaknesses affecting the monetary system.
This article explains it quite well: http://www.forbes.com/si tes/timothylee/2013/04/09/bitc oin-is-a-disruptive-technology /
