It depends on the Course/Department.
From what I see in the link; the research looks pretty relevant.
Try looking at the Electrical/Electronic Engineering Department project (if at all they have ever gone Internet like the Computer Science - which I doubt) Still stuck in the pre-70s technologies - with very rigid move towards modern electronics/computing - mostly because the professors are comfortable teaching this 'old concepts and programming languages' and a move to updated applications would threaten their jobs.
