Skunks, I have a situation where an NTFS partitioned desktop HDD has failed after performing an automated Windows 7 Check Disk. I have tried to slave it on another Win 7 PC and perform a chckdsk /f. But reportedly "Drive is corrupted and inaccessible" On the other hand, I have Ubuntu and Fedora Live CDs which come in handy for data recovery when Windows fails. The failed HDD can be detected with tools like GParted, but reports a bad 'superblock', and cannot be mounted. Any ideas on how I can use any of these 2 distros for recovery? Regards, Hum4.
