Also, Google Apps engine is great. The only thing you need to do is modify your applications to work with a NoSQL engine (Google's BigTable, an extension to MySQL's relational db engine).
So the Python app's db model will speak a dialect of your ORM language with a slightly different accent. The differences are really minimal. You will also have to do some monkey patching of your views and URL mapping code.
