The main challenge in Africa is the cost of the license vis-à-vis the income. Asking an American to part with 37,000sh (370USD) <https://textbookcentre.com/computers-electronics/software/ms-office-2013-professional> and they make 20 USD per hour easier than asking a Kenyan making 37,000 sh monthly. I have come across one company owned by an American and he always insists on valid software but others don't care or the price forces them to install the pirated software. I run a valid windows 8 then 10 just because my Laptop came pre-installed but I don't think I can cough out 18,000 sh for a valid copy. If the cost of software was proportionate to our income I believe most of us would run licensed copies of software. Well Said @Jeremiah
However my view is different........ thus Microsoft guys are just playing with our heads..... I personally feel they use intimidation and reverse psychology to make us feel it is wrong to use unlicensed products.... "Cracked" software and "none genuine" work the same :-)
More of compelling us to be "Ethical" so as to make business from us :-)
To add salt to injury... show me a developer in this list who uses genuine software :-) on his PC....... Just saying.... a lot of pun intended.

Hi Benjamin,
Yes it's possible to get volume licensing for your 50 machines. At the moment you can get Windows 10 with downgrade options to Windows 8.1 or Windows 7 and this allows you to legalize your windows 7 and when you are ready to upgrade to win 10 you will still be compliant.
With office you have two options 1. Perpetual licenses where you can buy one off version of license e.g office 2013, 2016 etc this will be valid until Microsoft stops supporting it. This could be expensive to procure (Capex) no running costs (Opex) 2. Subscription licenses where you pay monthly, or annually and ownership ends with expiry of period paid for. This has no Capex but has Opex. Cheaper in the long run especially when you need to upgrade and flexibility for paying for what you need e.g a staff resigns and you don't need to pay for his/her license for the time the position is vacant if on monthly payment.
Pricing for any of the licenses is based on 1. Type of license I.e Home, Standard, Professional and Enterprise each packaged with different options /features and or capabilities.
2. Organisation type I.e Commercial /Private, Government, Education, Non Govt
