Guys,

I've been thinking about a good starting point for these database engines. What's the best starting point - I'm looking for something open source, can be downloaded and hosted on a PC and needs no internet connection to work with, that's easy to work with for a beginner at this type of engines. I've been using RDBMs.

Any leads will be highly appreciated.

Different solutions call for different problems....or is it the other
way round?
