HI
can quickly become un-understandable -- and the automatic code generation isnt really solving problems in many cases. (Also availability of open source UML software is a problem)
In my experience, UML gets rather misunderstood for a language yet its just a diagramming notation. Its no OOA/D or a method. I think thats a line most software architects miss. It took time to grasp the concept but one book i highly recommend for anyone who wants to apply UML, which is a very noble idea is, "Applying UML and Patterns by Craig Larman". For the tools, i guess there is a plethora of those out there but my personal favorites are ArgoUML(open-source) and Poseidon(commercial). Anyone interested in sharing ideas and also experiences in the same feel free to shoot me mail or we can take this to the forum. -tyrus _IEEE Member.
