Chris, As stated before, Google's helping improve the computer science / software engineering curriculum in our colleges / universities is really commendable. That said, it is essential that it be possible for those of us not going (back) to college be able to download high quality Google tech (developer) videos. Yes it will be more possible (and affordable) to stream videos in the next month or two but that is not good enough. What if there is no internet connection at some location where someone wants to learn about the Google App Engine? http://code.google.com/events/io/sessions/BuildingScalableComplexApps.htmlpr... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=AgaL6NGpkB8 to download the session video. How can one download the high quality versions of these videos (being streamed) without reverting to 3rd party tools that just record (and compromise) the video quality? Are you a developer who is already developing applications that use Google APIs?
Did you know that there are always people reaching out to Google Kenya asking if they can hire qualified developers to implement various solutions?
Have you positioned yourself to be able to receive these types of business leads from Google?
Well, now you can do so for free by participating in the Google Qualified Developer program <http://code.google.com/qualify/>. It will be interesting to see which African countries will have the largest number of qualified developers via this program. Personally, I think it would be neat if Kenya were to lead the way. :)
Cheers, - Chris
