Equity have gotten every approval for Thin SIM pilot roll-out; CAK (CCK), CBK, add Presidential if it matters. You can ignore the court cases and all, they are side-shows.
I spent part of Friday at Equity registering for the Equitel service and linking it to some account I have there. They are currently issuing normal SIM cards and not Thin SIMs. My take is that they are managing customer expectations; they advertised a technology that they were not ready with.
Meanwhile I have to shift SIM cards to access Equitel services. Will not mind if it ends up being cheaper than the hundreds I keep giving Queen Bee to send money.

Equitybank has not yet issued the thin SIM. Though we should expect them anytime before and hopefully closure of year. Equity bank could not proceed to pre-order the thin SIM when their was some issues pending determination by some govt arm's. Remember the normal SIM card is only being issued for a temporary period awaiting the thin SIM. Another key point. You have the chance to retain the numbers of your current line but replace the prefix with Equitell's prefix.
