Hi rita, thanks for your response. Actually i would like to say that i did call the 121 number and did get assisted. I was told that all i need to do is go to one of the customer care centers apply to be moved to the new service. I was pleasantly suprised; things are definately improving on the customer care part however now my issue is the copper line which is down :( had reported it 2 weeks ago but no action taken yet. will send u the details off list. I would also like to take this opportunity to thank you for the effort in developing a good service experience by being available to help your customers the way you have been doing in through skunkworks, it has injected alot of confidence on my part. Thank you On 22/07/2009, aki <aki275@googlemail.com> wrote:
my personal opinion : I'd like to congratulate Orange on its step forward. The cheaper rates ( modem included ) will create demand for its services. Demand for copper based services will push telco to lay new networks. I'd also assume that within 12 months, things like 4Mbit/s services will be carried on copper without any changes to demarc equipment.
Reason for asking is : Safcom should now face serious competition on its 3g platform from Orange EVDO ( cdma version of 3g ). For safcom 1GB of data used = Kshs 2500 while EVDO ( on nyumbani rates ) will still be a much cheaper option, i.e Data usage wise.
Corrections are welcome.

Rita, will the same service platform ( bandwidths and tariffs ) be applied to wireless evdo, for those who are not in copper areas?
