I actually did MSc Information Systems (ok, project not done, so still doing) - This was informed by the advice I got from the University, since my bachelor's degree was in Mechanical Engineering and I was already working in IT - This course is meant for those in management of Information systems or aspiring to do so. There's less theory, but more field oriented practice. ./Ok3ch On Tue, Apr 10, 2012 at 9:56 AM, Peter Muchemi <pmuchemi@gmail.com> wrote:
My understanding is
1st. Is for guys who did a cs based undergrad course. It got a lots of theory, simple class practicals and a fair project and the end of it all. Can be done in 2 yrs. I studied this one.
2nd got few theory and heavy weight practicals. I got a friend who attempted it and left mid stream complaining of the heavy load considering he was working.
3rd is a basic cs course(1st and 2nd yr undergrad cs) meant for guys interested in IT but who did arts of general bsc in undergrad.

There are these 3 Masters programmes from University of Nairobi:
MSc. Computer Science - http://sci.uonbi.ac.ke/degree_courses/189 MSc. Applied Computer Science - http://sci.uonbi.ac.ke/degree_courses/188 MSc. Information Systems - http://sci.uonbi.ac.ke/degree_courses/187
If you were required to do one of those 3, which one would you do and why? I would most appreciate feedback from those who have "been there, done that"
